Day One update

I weighed in this morning at a hefty 212 pounds, my beginning weight.

I got hungry mid-morning and stopped and ate half a regular size bag of pork rinds and drank a Diet Mountain Dew.

For lunch, I went to Smithfield's Chicken & Barbecue and ate about 6 ounces of chopped pork and a serving of cole slaw. I was proud of myself because I ordered unsweet tea, and they gave me sweet. After taking a few sips to make sure it was indeed sweet tea, I traded it for unsweet. This is something I would not have done in the past.

Sarted boiling a bag of raw peanuts in chicken broth and salt water at 2:30 P.M. Will post again tomorrow with day 2 weight and evening food intake.

In the Beginning

Depsite my marriage to a dietitian, who is incredibly patient and tolerant of my poor eating habits, I have let myself get rather chunky over the last few years. I have decided to go on a diet because right before court a few weeks ago, a button popped off my pants, so I had to maneuver my belt in such a way as to hide the popped button and keep my pants up. Then, last time I went to court, I realized I could not button the top button on my coat at all. I am also getting tired of putting on 3-4 things from my closet before one fits.

The profile picture was taken on a trip to Colorado with some friends. The waitress told me ice cream for dessert only came in one scoop servings, so I told her to go ahead and bring me three of them. Those days are over for the next month at least.

I have decided there is no way I can maintain this diet unless I make it interesting for myself. First, I am going to center the diet around my favorite food - pork. Next, I am going to limit the duration of the diet until my trip to Vegas on October 1. The goal is to lose as much as possible by then on a predominantly pork diet.
